Junior year was a critical time for me. It was the time when I started pulling ahead in my academic endeavors. It was also the year when I really started getting into public speaking and developing my skills. I acquired a passion for communicating my ideas. During my junior year, we started a Model United Nations team. I started as a shy competitor, but by the time we traveled to compete in San Antonio, Texas at Trinity University's MUNSA competition, I posed a significant threat. I learned to stand up and speak up. I was able to represent powerful communication despite my male competitors, who were usually more outspoken than I, and that didn't have to work very hard to make their voices heard.
Junior year was also the time when I started learning about the United States government. I took an Advanced Placement US Government Course and thrived. The political speeches were a breeze, and it wasn't hard for me to understand how our government works. By second semester, I was effectively communicating my positions on various modern issues.
